A First 48 session is an amazing documentation of the first few days of your baby’s life. Little fingers, toes, furry newborn skin and speckled noses, all wrapped up like a pea in a pod…I have never met a mother that would not want to remember exactly what their little guy or gal looked like in those first few precious days.
If you are interested in birth photography, but on the fence because of cost, privacy or time limitations, consider a First 48 session as a great alternative! (more info below the pic!)

What is it, exactly?
Well, like the name suggests, a First 48 session will take place within the first two days after birth. In the case of a hospital birth, the session must take place at the hospital in order to properly document the occasion the way it truly was! In the case of mom and baby going home before 48 hours or a home birth, other arrangements will be made.
What is included?
45 minutes to 1 hour of shoot time ($150 value), photos of baby in her surroundings, detail shots (noses, fingers and toes, other mementos…), and baby with mom (and dad & siblings when possible). Proofing session, ten (10) 5×7 prints ($230 value), a la carte options, and discounted entrance into the {rmt} Remember Me Tiny program.
How much is it?
The cost of this session is $275, with $150 due at booking to reserve your week (see next question), and the rest of the total being due 14 days before your due date.
What if I go into labor early? What if you are not available during the first 48 hours of my baby’s life?
When you book your First 48 session, the week surrounding your due date (3 days before & 3 days after) is reserved for you to be top priority. Getting your baby’s First 48 photos is the most important thing during those days, and I will not commit to any other thing that will prevent it. In the case of an unforseen reason (family emergency, illness, extremely early labor) keeping me from making it, I will make every effort to secure an equally qualified photographer as my replacement. In the unlikely event that I am unable to make it or secure another photographer for your photos, the $275 you paid will either A) be applied to the purchase of the {rmt} program, or B) be applied to a full newborn session with print credits.
